I OWN EIGHT TEAS WHO AM I!?!?!?!!?
i drink tea at an astonishing rate now.
i asked katy, my british teacher's lounge neighbor,
if there was such a thing as too much tea
and she said
"absolutely not!"
i don't even like black tea, which is the caffeine-y, teeth-stainin kind anyway!
i'm also excited about growing out all my dyed hair so that all that's left eventually after a few cuts will be the true nonchemicaly hair WHICH I HAVENT SEEN SINCE SIXTH GRADE HOW DO YOU LIKE ALL THE CAPS LOCK? NO!?!?, yeah, sorry, i should try to stop doing that.
- my friend sing came over today to shower post-badminton (since she lives in seoul) and i cooked her a nice lunch and she did dishes (o what a dream!) and it was really lovely. we're gonna have a standing date every tuesday!
- i'm going to see jens lekman on saturday with work friends.
- my apartment is really clean and i have a cool dish rack that makes me feel more together.
- i still can play violin and i might jam with other musician girls.
- the partiers next door stopped partying...JUST IN TIME FOR MY PARTY MWAHAHAHAHA
- i got a work mug so i don't have to drink tea out of paper cups anymore.
- i've been losing some weight (the tea?) and two people noticed, which never happens.
- i learned how to make mock apple cider from apple juice.
- m-k is coming back and i think that will be good. i hope i hope.

Sounds like you are having a pleasant week. I am a fellow tea drinker. I have 23 different teas in my pantry. That is too many. I have Asian teas, Irish teas, English teas, Scottish teas, fruit teas, black teas, green teas, herbal teas and some bizzare thing called "Rainforest of the Sun" tea (huh?) Some of them look as if they have been there for at least a decade. Think I might need to send some of them to tea heaven(garbage disposal). Love ya!
what's the best? i think jasmine is my favorite right now. i really like chai teas too but they don't have that here.
I like jasmine too, but my favorite teas are usually English teas, such as Earl Gray. Orange Pekoe is my usual daily hot tea and Passionfruit my iced tea, as I prefer black teas. I like Chai teas, but not when they put milk in them. I am not a fan of rose hips, cammomile and those types.
Claire, I'm glad to learn you have taken up a liking for tea. Welcome to the club! I have a tea drawer here. It's kind of overflowing, and by kind of I mean it takes some careful arranging to even get the drawer closed, and I also have a wooden box full of bagged tea. I've mostly moved to loose leaf now though I probably have plowed through about 30 boxes since the summer...I just have to go to the bathroom a lot. :/ That's really the only thing I don't like about my tea obsession. Elizabeth and I mixed our own teas for party favors for my reception, and my mom made little tea satchels for them. We had two flavors, a lemon-peppermint-rose one, and a blueberry rooibos one (as the main flavor descriptions). I'll have to recreate the recipes for you, we have extra little bags. I like all teas mostly, its just depends on what kind I'm in the mood for. Nathan's favorite is jasmine as well. Right now I'm hooked on this Cardamom Ginger one that was left over from our party. We served three teas. Orchid Green Tea, Cardamom Ginger, and Iced Black Forest (which was a fruity one). We are so having a tea party when you get back.
Love,
Megan
oh wow, megan, that sounds like heaven! you are way more sophisticated in your tea persuasions, but i'm gettin there! i haven't found one of those steepy ball things yet so i haven't graduated to any loose leaf yet, but even lipton(!) has these fancy see-through triangular bags that are pretty beautiful. i like having this new intense interest, but i must say that you were my first tea-drinking inspiration. all i had ever had before were nasty herbal-y teas(?) like celestial seasonings(?) and my mom always tried to get me to drink black tea with honey when i was sick so i had REALLY bad associations with tea! i remember sampling some of the teas you had around and i was like wow(!) i don't hate all tea! this is good!!
You are excited about a dish rack? Wow, you are getting old.
The steepy tea ball things are overrated -- just throw the tea into a pot with some hot water then strain it out when you pour it. I've been a big fan of kava tea lately. It helps with the stress of my boss being an asshole.
You can so make pumpkin pie if you access to a pumpkin. You can even cook a regular pumpkin in the microwave! (Though I'm not a fan of microwaves.) And for a crust all you need is flour, butter, sugar, and salt. Pie crusts are really easy to make. I've done some baking in a toster oven and it works just fine.
Don't listen to Tessa, I get excited about kitchen things all the time and I'm not old and lame -- right?
-Nathan
