When I was teaching high school, I was called into the princial's office more than any kid, ha. When you are a new teacher, it is all a new learning excperience for you too. I think sometimes the powers that be forget that. I finally figured out that I was going to make mistakes regardless of how hard I tried, so I forced a smile and apologized to the powers (while cursing under my breath) and used each trip as a learning experience. Didn't always agree with the message I was being given..that's where the smiling came in...but I made their "suggested" adjustments as best I could. You will do just fine!

Teaching is hard and kids suck. I remember in 11th grade AP US History, Paul Tobin or one of this friends handcuffed himself to a desk and lost the key. Or another time some kids were wrestling before class and broke a table. Be prepared for the worst and laugh it, or otherwise you'll just cry. Buck up, kiddo!

good luck with everything! it must feel kind of shitty to hear that they were thinking of letting you go, when you seem to actually care about these kids learning and behaving themselves. i'm sure things will improve; i would say just do things the way they want until the end. i don't know a lot about korean society, but it seems like it may be the kind of place where following the rules is often more important than being creative. i sort of experienced that in japan. but anyway, i hope you are doing well!
